So what is gothic literature?
Gothic Literature is a genre that combines horror and romance. The person who invented this genre was known as Horace Walpole with his novel, The Castle of Otranto. This genre is so popular and well liked because it allows the reader to feel the adrenaline of a horror novel and the love of a romance, combining the two for a thrilling adventure! The Gothic part in Gothic literature relates back to the buildings that make up the setting for most of the stories as the buildings were from the medieval era.
